Where do we find solace?  How do we refresh our minds and spirits when we are overwhelmed and discouraged? What is the source of light in times of darkness and despair?  For me, and for many, we find solace in nature, we walk on the beach or in the woods, we hike and sail, paddle and fish. We seek the sun, we marvel at sunsets, relish in the long days of summer and the dappled shade of a tree. We return from nature feeling stronger, calmer, more centered.

By capturing the places where I find so much solace and joy, I hope to share the renewed optimism I feel. Nature is powerful and resilient -- a constant wonder and inspiration.
