“September”

September 11-23, Opening Reception Saturday, September 13th 5-7PM

Second Saturday Artist Talk September 20th 4PM

I have always been intrigued with the way trees, grasses, the natural world, change. All growing things cope with a present tempestuous climate, yet some thrive while others decay as years pass. I’m drawn into capturing the images which entice me in a moment of awe and meditative thought. When I paint, I feel that I am within nature itself,

and I continue on a piece until it “sings” to me. Living in Truro on Cape Cod for many summers and more, I’ve become more attuned to its surrounding natural beauty; changing tides, the varied hues of green, and the faded beautiful colors of fall. When summer is over, I take this sense of nature to my winter home in Washington DC. where I am fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful

landscapes: Rock Creek Park, and the C&O Canal, places where I often walk. Most paintings from those areas are of trees- some with Creek or Potomac waters.

I have titled this Exhibit “September” since most of my images have come from fall experiences.
